The Quick Way to Display Live Images from Many Cameras

In addition to the multiview function in the browser, MOBOTIX cameras also support the possibility of displaying live images and sound from a large number of cameras quickly and simultaneously. This can be done using MxControlCenter, a Windows program in EXE format which can be downloaded from the Web free of charge. MxControlCenter supports JPEG, Motion JPEG and MxPEG streaming with audio. In addition, cameras can also be displayed and recorded from the Internet via JPEG-URL (http://name.jpg).

Multiview

High-Speed Control Center Included

The number of cameras which can be displayed is only limited by the computer performance and screen size. Run on a normal PC (Pentium IV/3.2 GHz), the MxControlCenter supports about 900 fps (frames per second) in CIF format. This capacity is sufficient for 30 live cameras delivering 25 fps including audio. These 30 cameras can also be arranged in a 6 x 5 grid on a large TFT screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels (such as the Samsung 243T) in CIF format (320 x 240 pixels).

The Quantity Makes all the Difference

The high-speed display is far from being a complete high-speed system because whilst many systems can display one or a handful of cameras live at 25 fps, the image rate quickly drops at over 5 cameras. By contrast, MxControlCenter displays live images from 30 cameras with ease. What's more, the delay (latency) between the event in front of the camera and its display on the screen is much shorter in MxControlCenter than in other systems.

Integrated Site Map

MxControlCenter also includes a layout editor. It can be used to define 20 different multiview layouts with cameras in five different format sizes. In principle, there is no limit on the number of cameras per screen. JPEG images can be loaded as the background for each layout in the ground plan, and the cameras of variable size can be dragged and dropped there. Alarms can be displayed visually or by means of an acoustic signal. As the user rolls the mouse over the camera display, the live image is enlarged.

Alarms Always Come into View Immediately

MxControlCenter's alarm list function (in the film strip on the left) allows events and live snapshots to be stored on the local PC. The event alarms in the list can be displayed in image form in two sizes or in text form with the camera name and alarm time. In addition, the time which has elapsed since the alarm is also shown for each event. It remains highlighted in red until the alarms are acknowledged with a click of the mouse. The alarms can be verified quickly and easily with the automatic zoom function, when the mouse is rolled over the event. Clicking the mouse on the alarm image automatically activates the preferential layout assigned to the camera which is triggering the alarm. The layout then contains the relevant site map, showing any other cameras sited there.

Versatile through to the Pan & Tilt Head

MxControlCenter allows the recorded events from one camera to be played back, while other cameras continue to display live images. Event searches can be conducted both via the camera and directly in the PC/server's recording data. Various makes of pan & tilt heads can also be integrated into MxControlCenter by mouse control or joystick.

Remote Cut-In Control Center

MOBOTIX cameras feature all the functions for automatic, event-controlled cut-in to a control station as standard. Cut-in can take place via ISDN, a network or the Internet. If events occur, the cameras transmit a message via the network to the control station computer which then saves the event image, creates a live picture, brings it into the foreground of the monitor, where possible, and sends an acoustic signal to the user.
