The MOBOTIX cameras also act as a telephone and cut-in device and can be called from any terminal. It makes no difference whether this is done via the integrated ISDN line (S0) or via IP and the integrated SIP client. MOBOTIX cameras can use a DSL Internet connection to transmit alarm messages to specified telephone numbers and to receive calls from any telephone in any location in the world for room-monitoring or intercom purposes. Access takes place via an SIP provider which can be chosen by the user. The cameras can also call landline or mobile phone numbers by ISDN. The camera's integrated microphone and speaker enable communication from anywhere with people standing in front of the camera.
In the case of the automatic alarm signaling, which is triggered off by movements in the camera image or by means of a switch input, the camera continues to dial the stored telephone numbers until the agreed PIN number is entered on the telephone keypad. Using the touchtone interface, camera functions such as opening a door or focusing the camera can be remote-controlled by pressing keys on a phone in any location.
