MOBOTIX cameras possess complete lip-synchronous audio integration for displaying images live and for storage. The cameras support the following audio functions:
- Output of predefined voice messages via the speaker,
- Room monitoring via a browser (ActiveX) or Windows client,
- Messages to the camera via a Windows client,
- Event-controlled sound/video recording,
- Telephony and alarm messages via ISDN and IP
The audio output can take place in the browser or in the client program which is also supplied, “MxControlCenter”. In the case of audio output in the browser, "ActiveX" browser mode must be enabled. This mode is only available in the Microsoft Internet Explorer. Make sure that ActiveX is enabled in the browser settings. Despite MxPEG, other browsers or PDA only support images without sound.
Another great advantage of MOBOTIX cameras is that the audio output has multi-channel support, which means that several users can retrieve synchronous audio at the same time and at different image rates. This is all-important in long term storage, in particular, because despite a high-speed live display of 25 fps, the storage image rate can be lowered to as few as 0.2 fps (i.e. one frame every 5 seconds) at the viewer's terminal, saving on memory capacity. Nevertheless, the sound is recorded synchronously.
